IPD is the industry leader for improving the airflow of late model Porsches. Their patented designs increase power and torque by improving the efficiency of air as it passes through the throttle body and toward the intake runners. And with the twin turbo 3.0L engine of the 991.2 Carrera, Carrera S and GTS, their latest plenum stays true to their formula.

A newer piece from IPD, early indications of power gains in the 30+ range and torque 40+ over a factory stock Carrera.

However, in addition to receiving its IPD plenum, our customer’s Carrera also features performance tuning by GIAC and a BMC high-flow air filter for even more profound gains.

Porsche’s plenum is a simple composite piece, designed for cost-effective production and satisfactory performance. As demonstrated with performance tuning, they’re capable of handling increased boost and producing more power. Yet, as IPD has demonstrated time after time, the Porsche plenum is a prime target for an aftermarket solution.

Whereas the factory composite plenum forces incoming air to slam into a hard “T” split, IPD’s “Y” design diverts airflow in each direction for less turbulence and increased velocity. This smooth transition is the key to creating more horsepower and torque throughout the powerband.

The dimpled interior surface improves the boundary layers, optimizing airflow just as the dimples of a golf ball help it slice through the air.

With the IPD plenum installed and the factory throttle body going back on, it’s one of the last remaining moments to see it before everything goes back together and the engine bay is hidden from view.
