Increasing the 4.0L twin turbo V8’s output from 541 horsepower and 568 lb-ft torque to 640 hp and 663 lb-ft, it gives the E3 Cayenne Turbo a nearly 20% bump in horsepower.
After owning a previous-gen Cayenne Turbo, our customer called up to see what we could do with his new one. Even though it has more power than before, he felt it lacked some of the low-end grunt of the old 4.8L twin turbo V8.
The TECHART module in its familiar shape. The system piggybacks into the factory wiring harness through a series of connectors.
While “plug and play”, it does take skilled know-how and careful attention to route the harness to its connection points. For starters, the driver’s side door must be removed (the same goes for the Panamera).
A module placed under the driver’s seat means further removal of equipment to gain access for one of the connections. Fortunately the seat can just be tilted back instead of having to be completely removed.
Can you see it? Hiding between the oil fill neck and below the factory DME, the TECHART powerkit mounts on the driver’s side strut tower.
A few hours later (with its door and seat reinstalled) the new E3 Cayenne Turbo is now rocking and extra 99 horsepower and 95 lb-ft of torque thanks to its new TECHART TECHTRONIC engine management system.
